Following an initial inspection by one of our CSRT qualified Surveyors, on behalf of the Managing Agents and Landlord, Preservation Treatments were instructed to carry out Damp-Proofing works to this 3 bedroom Victorian semi-detached property in Camberley, Surrey.
During the surveyors visit a high moisture content was recorded on walls in the living room and hallway, and some of the walls to the rear of the property. Damp affected plaster and Hygroscopic salt contamination was also evident.

Even after further rising dampness has been prevented, areas suffering from Hygroscopic salt contamination will continue to attract moisture from the atmosphere. As such our Surveyor advised that the salt laden areas of plaster should be removed, after suitable floor protection had been laid.
Following removal of the existing wall plaster our operatives installed a new Damp-Proof course into the affected areas, using the Safeguard Dryzone Diffusion damp-proof course system.
After the Damp-Proofing system had been installed, the walls were then re-rendered in accordance with the PTL specification. A skim (setting) finish coat was then applied.
Preservation Treatments resolved the damp issue and left the property ready for redecoration, once the plaster had dried in 4-6 weeks.
The Damp-Proofing and Specialist Rendering works are covered by our 10-year guarantee, with the option of an insurance back-up guarantee if required.
