Andrew Ferguson, CSRT & CSSW Surveyor, and Leviat Approved Surveyor

How long have you worked for Preservation Treatments?

I have been with the company for over 15 years, for many of which I was an NVQ Level 3 qualified plasterer. I have also been trained in the application and technical specifications of many key products within the industry.

Why did you decide to become a Surveyor?

Some years ago I had the opportunity to sit the exams necessary to become a qualified CSRT Surveyor, and I haven’t looked back since. Being a Surveyor puts me in a unique position to be able to assess projects and put together specifications using the experience of working with some of the most advanced products on the market today.

What do you enjoy most about being a Surveyor and do you have any areas of special interest?

Although Damp Proofing and Timber Treatments have provided their own challenges over the years, I have taken a keen interest in structural repairs, becoming one of Preservation Treatments approved Leviat Surveyors. Structural repairs have sparked a whole new interest for me where there is never just one solution. Many projects require a great deal of creativity to achieve technically efficient solutions with the minimum amount of disruption for the property and their owners.
